We are all called to go into the world and make disciples, not just convert people to Christianity. One of the aspects of discipleship that I take to heart is from Titus 2, where we are admonished as older women to teach the younger women to love their husbands, love their children, and live holy and pure lives. It's my joy to sit with the Bible school women (ages 18 - 30) and teach them these things. I am NOT perfect, and they know that, and I try to share my failures as well as my successes so they can learn from me.
Discipleship is not a job that fits into your PDA or your daily schedule. It's a 24/7 lifestyle. We have to look for every opportunity to teach and encourage. That's hard because we have to die to ourselves in those teachable moments, or when a girl comes to my house to talk and I've JUST sat down for the first time all day. But, birthed in love for them and for our Lord, this becomes easier and easier every time.
This picture is from a night I planned where they had to dress up as princesses and go out in search of their prince. We watched a movie, ate popcorn, gave out gifts to our "secret sister", and took lots of pictures.
This is one of my girls, she is the one who changed the most from August to June, maturing in her faith, her attitudes, her outlook on life.
