Last Friday one of the underwater fiber-optic cables that connects Latin America to the internet was damaged which resulted in an internet blackout for most of Central America. Saturday's newspaper had the large and dramatic headline: Colapsa Internet! (do I really need to translate that?).
Fortunately the internet blackout only lasted until yesterday afternoon so we're back online.
