Goings-on

This week we've been battling the stomach flu.  First Jackson came down with it then passed it to me (Greg) and then I extended the thing to my dear wife.  Fortunately my strapping teens have stronger immunity systems and have managed to avoid it.  Today was our first full day of recovery and we're happy to finally feel better.

We're working on our stateside schedule for the second half of December so please keep that in your prayers.  We want to get quality time with our extended families as well as connect with our sending churches and set up dates for our Easter missions trip when we'll be bringing up a group of 15 Mexican Bible School students to N.C.  Oh...and celebrate Christmas, Zack's, Jan's and Jackson's birthdays and ring in the new year somewhere - all in the span of about two weeks.   So thanks for the prayers!

Revolution Day 2007

100_0997Today was the 97th anniversary of La Revolución Mexicana and was celebrated throughout the country with school parades and other events.  Here are our Bible School students participating in the parade in El Carmen.

21st Century Global Realities:Festival_au_desert_mali_2

One world: Embrace the globe one intersection at a time.

The Church can no longer relegate "global concerns" as the unique interest and concern of those called to be "missionaries". We are all called to live out God's mission in what has now unquestionably become a globally-connected world.

One story. Move forward by looking backward.

There's one story for the whole world--God's Story of creation, fall, and redemption. As we look backward into the Grand Story of God, our lives move forward with meaning and purpose--and the countercultural nature of God's people begins to take root, all over the world.

One church: Connect with God's People everywhere.

The Church exists in every geo-political nation of the world. Expressed in local assemblies all over the world, God's People together make up the historical Body of Christ that is today, One Church.

Many cultures: Seek to understand.

East. West. Urban. Suburban. Rural. North. South. Rave. Hip-Hop. As Christ's Church approaches her God-ordained mission in every nation of the world, she must do so in ways that indigenously express the presence of Jesus in each context.

The floods in Tabasco

Mexico_floodingOver the past week there has been heavy flooding in the Mexican state of Tabasco.  According to Mexican president Felipe Calderón, this is the worst natural disaster in Mexican history and over half a million people have lost their homes.  We're been impressed to see our denomination, the Faith Hope & Love churches, send support and even teams to help out with disaster relief.  Please pray for the residents of Tabasco during this difficult time.
